Kristen Donaghey is a Registered Psychologist who brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate, strengths-based approach to her dual role in child diagnostics and parental counselling at Coastal Early Intervention Clinic.
With a background spanning private practice, trauma support services, and work with children and adolescents in Out of Home Care (OOHC), Kristen has developed a deep understanding of the complex emotional and developmental needs faced by families.
Her work with victims of crime, vulnerable young people, and families navigating systemic challenges has shaped her ability to sensitively assess and support children presenting with neurodivergence, behavioural difficulties, or trauma-related concerns.
Kristen draws on evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Schema Therapy to support both diagnostic clarity and therapeutic change.
In her role as a psychologist at Coastal, she conducts comprehensive psychological assessments that inform early intervention pathways and guide families through the NDIS process.
Kristen is also deeply passionate about supporting parents—particularly women in the perinatal and postnatal period—offering counselling that builds emotional resilience, fosters secure parent-child relationships, and empowers families to thrive.
